MY STORY

My name is Anastasia V, me and my family are currently going through extremely hard time.

Me and other 2 members of my family were accused of shaken my son who was 7 month old at the time when alleged injuries occurred.

When my son was born he had his head measured it was on 75th  centile and 11 weeks later it was just above 99.6th centile. He has not been diagnosed with macrocephally nor referred to neurologist, his head circumference was not monitored. 2 weeks prior admission to the hospital he had a fall of the bed around the same time he started showing symptoms of what I thought was flu, he had temperature, started being sick. I tried to self medicate him myself first gave him paracetamol 4 times a day and he seemed to start being better, but he still didn't look hundred percent right so me and my partner booked the appointment with the GP.

She couldn't tell what was wrong with him and referred him to hospital. In the hospital he was diagnosed with non accidental head injury caused by shaken. No fractions or bruises have been found except little bruise on his left ear. No neck injuries. At the hospital his head circumference was measured again it was just above 99.6th centile just like at 11 weeks.

They drained my son's skull for excessive fluid that was mixed with blood. His sutures widening was quite marked and he showed signs of increased intra-cranial pressure. He had bilateral subdural haemorrhages and retinal haemorrhages much more extensive in the left eye.

We are currently going through family court care proceedings and I am very worried that I will never be living with my children again.
